INDIVIDUAL & RELATIONSHIP THERAPY
FOR ADULTS
I attended Northern Illinois University where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 2016 and my Master of Science degree in Applied Human Development and Family Sciences with a Specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2018. Additionally, I have received certification in Gottman level 1 and level 2 that uses researched-based methods to strengthen relationships.
My career began at a private practice in downtown Chicago, where I was devoted to furthering my training and building my skills working with both individuals and couples. Having the aspiration to start my own practice one day, after five years, my dream became a reality and I launched Tap Into You Therapy.
My passion for helping started early, and I always say, my empathy and curiosity is what sparked my interest in this field. I find it to be very rewarding when I can help individuals understand themselves on a deeper level. Considering that, the more we understand ourselves, the healthier we can operate in our relationships. I love to empower my clients to curate the life that they want, and in the belief that they can.
In my free time I embrace any opportunity to be outdoors, especially on a sunny day! Being near an ocean or lake is my happy place. I enjoy spending time with my loved ones and my two cats! Reading all things holistic healing intrigues me after having developed two autoimmune conditions myself. I love going to the gym and weight training!
At Tap Into You Therapy, I believe in taking a holistic approach to therapy, treating the whole person and not just their symptoms. I work collaboratively with my clients to ensure our goals reflect their needs. My therapeutic style is very warm and nurturing, yet honest and realistic. I strive to empower my clients to uncover and acknowledge their strengths, and become experts on navigating their own lives.
Some of my specialties include communication challenges, intimacy, self-esteem, infertility, anxiety, codependency, and navigating life transitions. As an LMFT, I understand the importance of seeing client's through a family systems lens. Additionally, I often utilize the Gottman method, Attachment theory, CBT, DBT, and coaching in my practice.
My work with individuals expands over an array of issues, such as, developing coping skills for anxiety and depression, increasing self-esteem, identifying feelings and needs, healing emotional wounds, and their self-discovery journey. In addition, I work with individuals on navigating setting boundaries, communicating their needs, managing their reactions, and assessing good fit in their relationships.
I have many years of experience working with couples in improving their communication patterns, resolving conflict, addressing difficult topics, increasing awareness of one another's needs, restoring the "spark" in intimacy, determining next steps, rebuilding trust, creating emotionally safe interactions, and enhancing overall connection.
Please use the contact form or email/call us directly with any further questions!
In your first therapy session, we will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and your goals for treatment. We will also talk about your medical history and any current symptoms you may be experiencing. I am here to listen without judgement and to provide a safe space for you. My goal is for us to collaborate to address your concerns and to empower you to implement the change you would like to see in your life. I aim to provide mindful feedback, and to equip you with the necessary tools and resources that align with your goals.
The frequency of therapy sessions will depend on your individual needs and goals. Many clients attend therapy once a week, while others may attend less frequently. We will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan. As for length, sessions are 50 minutes.
As much as I would love to meet with you in person, at this time, I am only meeting with clients virtually. I will be sure to update when I locate an office space that I plan to open!
Yes, I do take insurance. I am in network with Aetna, BCBS, and UHC. I can check your benefits prior to your first session by request. For out of network insurance, you will pay the out of pocket rate, and I can email you a superbill after your session for you to submit to insurance for reimbursement. If you do not have insurance or do not wish to use insurance, I do offer sliding scale rates that are income based.
Unfortunately I do not have availability on the weekends. My current availability is Monday through Thursday, and I see clients in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Please let me know if there is an ideal day or time frame you prefer so we can see what I can accommodate.
Finding the therapist is similar to dating in that not every therapist will be a good fit. I am happy to do a short consultation by phone in advance to us meeting in order for you to ask any questions you may have to establish if we are a good fit. Additionally, if you feel during the therapy process that I am not a good fit, you can discontinue therapy at any point and I can provide you referrals. If I believe that I do not have the specialized training or expertise to address your presenting concerns, I will provide you with referrals for those who can.
